Here are survival contacts for women who find themselves in a crisis
such as becoming roofless on escaping violence or abuse in a hurry.

Telephone advice and information for people with a housing problem
or who are homeless. Issues dealt with include housing rights, harassment,
illegal eviction, rent and mortgage arrears, housing benefit, domestic
violence, hostel placements and finding accommodation. Helpline open
8am - 12 midnight, 365 days a year. Best times to get through are
early morning and weekends.
National Domestic Violence Helpline 0808 2000 247 (Freephone 24
hour)
Run in partnership between Women's Aid and Refuge.
A confidential, multi-lingual helpline which offers support and information
for women experiencing domestic violence. Via the helpline abused
women and children can access places of safety in the network of refuges
throughout the country.

Local Council's Emergency Out of Hours Numbers - you can find contact
details of your council here. If you find yourself literally roofless,
your local council does operate 24 hour services to place people into
emergency accommodation if you are vulnerable due to health grounds,
have dependent children or are past retirement age.
Day Centres
These are like a social club, a place where you can hang out and
get shelter, food, clothing, training, recreation, shower and laundry
facilities. Also medical services and support. They can also help
to refer you to accommodation as they are staffed by volunteers and
workers with the knowledge of what is available.
